I’m Back With “Two Future Bruins on a Bench”

Where I’ve been Well, hello there.  Yes, I know, it’s been a while.  The timing of my hiatus might coincide with when my twice-a-week babysitter LEFT US. She up and graduated from college EARLY.  It gets worse!  She didn’t even leave us for a corporate job.  No!  She left us to travel to the other side […]

Avery at the Park

Avery and I went to the park for the first time today.  For some reason, I thought kids had to be 25 before it was safe for them to get on a swing.  What can I say, I’m a little paranoid about any apparatus that could potentially, possibly, maybe lead to a bump or bruise.  […]

Childrens Photography: KP

I’ve been  neglecting my writing to work on honing my photography skills.  My goal is to (eventually) master exposure.  I enrolled in Nicole’s Classes (Photo101) this month and am also reading Bryan Peterson’s Understanding Exposure.  My November goal is to practice, practice, practice!  Do you have kids and want to get some photos taken?  Call me! Childrens Photography: Miss Talia

I think the best line I ever heard Talia say was when we were out to dinner with her family and one of my friends whom she had just met.  We were trying to squeeze 5 adults and 3 kids onto 2 wood benches that were meant for 4 people.  It was clearly going to […]

Alex - Wow! This is a gorgeous collection of photographs of Talia. I think you really captured, not only her beautiful exterior, but all the many wonderful facets of her inner spirit. She is her mother’s daughter. Lol! And maybe you could make that middle child feel special one of these days too… Just sayin’… :)

Sneak Peek: Finding Soft Morning Light with Talia

As a burgeoning photographer, I’m trying to learn to shoot in all types of light.  However, my favorite is a soft, backlit photograph.  It’s also the most popular natural light to shoot, so much so that some photographers will only shoot in the “golden hour” in the morning or evening.  Unfortunately, those “golden hours” coincide with Avery’s […]

Linda - Aimee,

I just spent my morning reading your posts. I can think of nothing else I would have rather done. You are delightful in every way. Your daughter is precious and I love seeing that you are still one of the sweetest, smartest, and sometimes sacrcastics girls from Bakersfield. LOVED every minute of it!

October 4, 2012

Rebekah - What a gorgeous girl!!! She looks so much like her mama!! I’m so impressed with the way your photography has grown! I have an SLR and feel like I don’t do it justice because I’m intimidated. You’ve inspired me!! Maybe not to ACTION yet, but still… inspired me none the less!! Love ya girl!

October 5, 2012

Aimee - Hi Linda! Thanks so much for your sweet words! I’ve been trying to tone down the sarcasm since 1997 ;)

October 5, 2012

Aimee - Hey Bekah – Talia is SO her mama! She’s such a joy! The photography is a process. Put your camera on manual and get going! ;)

Childrens Photography: Miss Talia | Aimee Desiree Press - [...] Talia’s extroverted nature made her a dream to photograph in the very last minutes of the morning golden hour.  I have a whole bunch of full-lenth shots; however, these head shots really capture her [...]
