It’s Fun, Trust Me!

Did I ever tell you about the first time Seth took me mountain bike riding?  You know, the time I almost dumped him?  Thankfully, I still had all the new dating butterflies in my tummy and oxytocin rushing through my brain; because, all common sense was screaming, “He’s trying to kill you!”  I’ve already explained how I tend to not see the fun in these dare devil kind of activities.  Luckily, our friend, Al, was with us and acted as a relationship counselor.  He’s been happily married for over a decade and knew right away that I needed to be handled like a scared 4-year-old.  Oh, wait, apparently 4-year-olds rock their mountain bike rides.

Hopefully, the Button has a sense of adventure because this is basically Seth’s dream father-daughter day.  At about minute 1:57 you can start to see little Malcom’s shadow and are reminded how small he is, at which point I was all, “Uh, he’s so close to the ground already – CHEATER!”  Then he falls at about minute 4:18 and I was reminded just how awesomely brave he is!  However, minute 7:18 is definitely the highlight of the entire video.

It reminded me of this classic YouTube sensation:

Have a fun weekend! (And remember to wear a helmet!)

Alex - It must be a guy thing. Your dad bought you your first bike, which was too big and too heavy for you. He scoffed at my input and proceeded to run you around on it, then just pushed you off on your own and…you DID it! Training wheels? Those are for sissies or so your dad informed me. They didn’t last long and you learned to handle that big, PINK monster all on your own. Thank heaven helmets were already in vogue. Avery is going to need plenty of protective sports gear, I think.

Aimee - I remember riding my most awesome pink bike in the hallway and using the closet door as my stopper. Sorry about the tire marks, mom!
