Lululemon Non-Diaper Bag

I just re-read my last post about diapers bags and am laughing at myself.  Glamorous?  Spend $500?  Ha!  Ha times a million!  I ended up choosing a diaper bag that was practical and anything but glamorous.  And I love it!

It’s actually a Lululemon Triumphant Tote gym bag.  It has all of the perfect features of a diaper bag; It’s light, durable, beach-friendly, easy to clean, waterproof, and has a lot of pockets!

This is what I pack in this awesome bag when we are out and about for a very full day:

Main Pocket:
Avery’s toys!  Is it just Avery or do all babies decide to throw their toys into the farthest corner of the backseat and then immediately cry about it?  Now, I just put the bag in the passenger seat with the zipper open and toys at the ready to pass back.
I also stash emergency formula and her
snack cup at the bottom of this main compartment.

Inside the main pocket are three mesh pockets:
The zippered pocket is perfect for her vaccination card.
I keep cash and her teether in the other two pockets, respectively.

The other side of the main compartment has a larger pocket with a zipper in which I keep her:
bib,

cloth face wipes,
change of clothes,
the very essential headband or hat, and a
spoon.

Large Padded Pocket:
This pocket is meant for your laptop; however, I fill it with several
Honest diapers,
Honest wipes, and a
changing pad that I zipped off of a Skip Hop Pronto Changing Mat Kit.  (I keep the other half of the kit in the back pocket of our BOB stroller).
I also keep the small bag meant for dirty gym clothes in here.  Instead, I used it for dirty baby clothes or diapers.

The front outer pocket has three sections meant for:
your cell phone,
car keys, and
wallet.

The back pocket is a bit more shallow, so I keep my:
lip gloss,
sunscreen,
and baby sunscreen stick inside there.

There are two side pockets perfect for:
A spare bottle or cup of water
my water bottle, and
food pouches
in the zipper pockets.

The Lululemon Triumphant Tote was easy to hang by the shoulder strap on the handle bars of my BOB stroller; however, once I put on the BOB cup holder, I found it best to buy a pair of the Petunia Pickle Bottom Stroller Clips ($19) and hang it by the metal rings. (See first photo).

At $118, the Lululemon Triumphant Tote was also, by far, one of the least expensive options I found.  Plus, it’s pretty and doesn’t scream, “I’m a diaper bag!”  I like it so much that, when I saw it on sale, I bought a second one!  I use the second one as a beach bag, overnight bag, mommytographer bag, and work bag.  So, pretty much everything but a workout bag.  (I have a phobia of the microbes at our local super gyms, but that’s news for another post!)

Unfortunately,  Lululemon stopped carrying the Triumphant Tote.  Luckily, the Lululemon Om Tote ($128) is very similar and has an additional option for your yoga mat, play mat, or beach towel.  I went to check it out and fell in love with the new shade of pink.  There are no loops from which to hang it with stroller clips, but it fits easily over the handle bars of my BOB stroller.

 What’s your favorite non-diaper bag?

I promised that I would announce the winner of the baby carrier contest last Friday.  Unfortunately, I was at my parent’s house and could not get online.  Booooo!  So, here’s a belated congrats to Cathryne and Brody Robinson!  I loved The Peanut Shell and wish I had had one, too!  Apparently, you can wear your baby and eat sushi at the same time!  More to come later this week!
