Avery gets especially excited when Auntie Mandie is on the phone. I usually put her on speaker so that I can finish feeding, changing, and playing with Avery while we chat. It’s cute how Avery kicks and laughs, surely recognizing my sister’s voice. I mean, Amanda cut the cord (No, really, Seth wanted nothing to do with that part of childbirth. Okay, any part of childbirth!) and was one of the first faces Avery saw in this new world of hers. However, now that she’s a bit older, Miss Avery wants in on the action! She has something to say, too, people! Now, I’m pretty much cut out of their convos!
13ish years from now, Auntie Mandie will probably be the one Avery calls with the, “my mom just doesn’t understand!” Amanda, you know the drill: Boys are not worth her time. Be aggressive out on the soccer field. Studying is fun! No bikinis until she is old enough to file her own tax-return.
