Our Honey Bunny, Avery’s first A+, and Sleeping Like a Baby

Pin It “It was an honor to carry your child,” I teased Seth soon after Avery was born.  That’s a little Sproul face you see above.  Everything from the little double chin to the bunny nose.  I think Avery inherited my lips and maybe she will get my blue eyes.  Either way, it’s an easy […]

Auntie Rosa - So adorable! I just want to know…..is Patch around on the first picture? She seems to be saying “fuchi, fuchi,” as Isabelle would say. He, he, he.

39 Weeks: The Alien Stage, al Natural, and Patch

Dear Baby Avery, You are 39 weeks today!  High-five!  Oh, wait?  You are too cramped to give a high-five?  How about an elbow in the rib, because you do that lots these days! Baby girl, we have official reached the Alien Stage of pregnancy.  I can see you moving around in there.  Little elbows, hands, […]

Rebekah - Thinking of you constantly!!!

Alex - Awwww, that’s such a sweet picture of Patchy with an ear to the baby bump. I think he may turn into a “nanny dog” like Nana in Peter Pan. Your ribs, btw, will recover. Mine did. Don’t let delivery scare you. It’s a natural process, you’ll have a great “team” there with you and you and Avery will do a great work together. You’ll see. It’s a pretty amazing experience. Be patient, she’s preparing herself for the debut of a lifetime.

Ali - love! It will be very very soon!

Aunt Rosa - Wow, Aimee, you’re almost there. I can’t wait to meet your little one either. Hang in there, the next few days or couple of weeks will seem interminable!

San Diego Sunsets with Karper and His Momma

She’s one of those friends.  The kind you meet right away and feel like you’ve known a lifetime.  She’ll keep your secrets and talk sense to you in a way that makes you actually listen.   It helps that you always seem to agree on the major things and, okay, a lot of the small […]

Alex - Lol! Karper is an adorable little man. Couldn’t his admirer see that he has boy biceps already? Seriously, baby boys have those from the get-go. Hey, I had you dressed from head to toe in pink, pink, pink and ruffles, ruffles, ruffles (think dress, bloomers, bonnet, sweater and booties; oh! and in a baby carrier draped in…let me think..right, PINK!) when you were about 4 months old and this elderly gentleman stopped to admire you and pronounced you a very fine looking young man. I accepted his praise graciously and without correction because he seemed like a sweet old guy and maybe he just didn’t see very well. But, once he was safely out of range my friends and I couldn’t help busting out laughing. Here I thought I had dressed you to make a very decided baby girl statement and it failed to work everywhere with everyone!

12 Ways to Enjoy La Jolla (and a bit beyond) in 2012

Pin It “One day, we’ll look back on our time here and reminisce about living in La Jolla.”  We were walking patch down to the La Jolla Cove and had stopped to watch the surfers catch the last waves of the day before the sun melted into the ocean.  Pinks, oranges and yellows filled the sky. […]
