Week 19
Dear Baby Babe,
You’re moving! I was at the vet with Patch on Friday when all of a sudden I felt this little flutter on the right side, high on my stomach. I did what I always do when I don’t know what’s going on with something health-wise and texted your Grandpa Augusto – my dad.
Grandpa Gusti is a doctor; therefore, I just assume that he knows everything about health topics. Actually, I might assume that regardless of his profession. One day you’ll know what I mean about thinking dads always have the answer. They will start offering all sorts of “free” advice, too. It can be very annoying. But, the next minute you’ll want them to be there when you need advice.
Now, with Grandpa Gusti, I’m always asking for a diagnosis or prescription. He started medical school when I was 6 and learning to ride my bike. He finished his residency when I was 16 and learning to drive a car. I feel he owes me this much. However, his advice, more often than not, is to go on a run to raise my body temperature and then drink hot lemon water. ”Really, dad?” I’ll ask. ”I was thinking that I needed a Z-Pack.” And then he’ll just tell me to go run and let him know how I feel in a couple of days. This time I think he was even making fun of me!
Yeah, I realize it took me a while to figure out what was going on. You’re my first baby so cut me a break! I kept feeling you move off and on all weekend. I think your dad was a bit jealous that I would get all exited and then he wouldn’t be able to feel anything. I feel a bit bad about that, but I am the one getting all stretched out. I guess my job has some perks :) This is definitely the best one so far! You just feel like a little butterfly fluttering against the inside of my stomach. It’s a totally bizarre feeling and completely awesome!
Today we find out if you are a boy or girl. I think you’re a girl just based on timing. However, I’ll be just as happy if you are a boy. Either way, you are the first grandbaby on my family’s side and your dad’s mom, Grandma Lauren, absolutely loves babies! You are in for the most spoiled time of your life!
Okay, off to our sonogram conference meeting with dad, Auntie Mandie and Grandma Alex!
Love you,
Momma

Aunt Rosa - Isn’t it wonderful how much you love this little creature whom you haven’t even seen yet? Motherhood is wonderful…..yet…grandmotherhood puts the icing on the cake! I’m truly happy for you, Seth, Grandpa Gusti, and Grandma Alex….you’re all in for the time of your lives :)
Alex - Thanks so much for inviting me to be at the sonogram, which was amazing! I loved seeing my grand-baby for the first time myself. I think she waved at me. . .
Aimee - At least you didn’t blog the photo this time when you waved back! ;)
